A tech festival by and for Black people of African and Caribbean heritage
A tech festival by and for Black people of African and Caribbean heritage
Afrotech Fest is returning for another year! We'll be returning to Rich Mix for a weekend of design, development and exciting discussion.
Afrotech Fest is a 'for us by us' festival seeking to create intentional and alternative spaces within the tech scene. We debut, highlight and showcase speakers across different disciplines, experiences and backgrounds.
In 2018, we put together an exciting programme covering everything from working in games, to exploring possible futures using Wakanda as a touch point. The festival offers interactive events across multiple venue spaces, including talks, workshops, and an opening night party.
A host of amazing speakers, workshop facilitators and artists sharing their unique perspective on the tech world and what they’re doing with technologies they use.

Afrotech Fest offers interactive events across four venue spaces, including talks, workshops, installations, youth events and an opening night party.
Join us on Friday for our opening talks, installations and an evening of activities including a games tournament, a live visuals performance accompanied by SA House & Gqom, arcade machines, a retro games corner, interactive projections and a Silent Disco featuring a mashup of bashment and video game soundtracks from Soulcase.live
Running alongside our exciting programme of talks and installations, Saturday kicks off our selection of workshops. Participants from a cross section of areas of expertise share their knowledge and give you the chance to pick up new skills and learn something new.
Young attendees are in for a treat with an exciting lineup of interactive youth workshops running throughout the day especially for them.
Pick up on conversations already started and share your perspective in new ones on the final day of the festival. Our exciting programme will not slow down with our talks, workshops, installations and youth sessions continuing throughout the day.
Join us for the festival’s closing talks after three full days of learning, sharing and making new connections.
Tickets are now on sale for Afrotech Fest 2019! Get your ticket for the full weekend or as many days as you can attend below.
We’re dedicated to ensuring that as many people can attend Afrotech Fest as possible, regardless of their income. If you're low-income, unwaged or a student you can purchase a subsidised ticket.
As well as your own ticket, you can purchase a donation ticket for someone who doesn’t currently have the means to attend.
We offer a limited number of free festival tickets through our community partners. We’re currently looking for groups who are working closely with Black people and technology to distribute tickets to. Our previous partners have included blackgirl.tech and CodeYourFuture
If you’re a community group whose values align with ours, get in touch at organisers@afrotechfest.co.uk.
